Blogger is having Glitches

Hi,
Tried to reply to some comments and others blogs today, but blogger wouldn't let me leave a comment, it kept circling me around to sign in, which I did and then to leave a comment, and then to sign in, round and round and just wouldn't let me leave a comment! So odd...

Well anyways, thought I would share a pic of my latest handspuns a blue & yellow and a forest, I love the colors together, but I still think my favorite so far was the Lemons & Ice handspun. What do you think?

Boy Colors Blue & Brown Swirled w/Curls of Red,Black & Yellow

Just had to try out one of my electric carded Batts, a soft pretty blue and brown. Started spinning it with Soft Mohair curls dyed red, black & yellow. What do you think? I think it could make a really cool photo prop baby boy knitted hat with the little curls sticking out. Here's a few photos of the Art Yarn in progress...

Love it? Hate it? Leave a comment... let me know ...

The Electric Carder Rocks! :}

So much faster than the hand crank carder, or hand carding with carding brushes! Had some fun heres the pics.... We have a light and a dark batt from Natural Colored Romeny X that are unbelievabley soft, and then some designer batts with Llama,fibers,Angelina,wool and such blended in to give different effects. It was tons of fun to card, now I can't wait to spin them!

New Gifts from Aunt Grace & Mountain Girl Soap

So Beautiful & Yummy! :} Just opened my package from http://www.mountaingirlsoap.com/ and it smells like summer vacation! Just perfect. Naomi who hand makes the soap also sent me 2 samples to try, an Acai Mangosteen scented soap sample, and a Blackberry Sage scented sample. That was a really thoughtful and sweet gift addition to my purchase, and I'm so glad to try these new scents I wouldn't have thought of trying before. Pop on over to Mountaingirlsoap and try some too!

Also recieved my shipment from "Aunt Grace" at Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/AuntGrace a gorgeous purple blueberry coin purse that zips up so tight no coins can fall out. (I hate having a coin purse that has holes in it.)It is exactly what I needed. Aunt Grace also sent me a gift Market tote with my purse of "matching" blueberry material!! Just have to love companies that send extras!

Ok, have to run along now and try out all my new stuff!! :}

I was bad today...

Yes I was bad today, but not too bad, I've been looking at this cute little Blueberry & Lavender Quilted Coin Purse for awhile, and finally thought why not? It is so cute its going to make me happy every time I look at it :} especially since its from my sisters shop on Etsy also, http://www.etsy.com/shop/AuntGrace
I used to sew when I was younger and even learned to quilt my own fabric, but I'm so busy now and have new hobbies, like handspinning :} I think I'll let others do a bit of the sewing for me! :}

My Newest Handspun Art Yarns

Hi, Just wanted to share my latest handspuns, the first is a white wool with bright pink Llama swirls, the second is a blue and orange with white stripes, and the third is a new effort for me. The third one as you can see in the pic has a variety of ingredients. I started with a multicolor green roving that included black and white, then spun in eyelash yarn, gold thread, Pink Llama curls, and white Angora Curls for tons of texture and glitz!

Sharing Pic of my latest handspun

Hi, I've been real busy this week on vacation at home, found out I'm going to be a great Auntie (again), have family moving out of town soon, and little time for spinning... however I did manage to find time to make these two very different Art Yarns the black and white one is a natural colored yarn from my sisters Jacob sheep which have big patches of white and black, wish I would have taken pictures of the whole washing and carding process. The wool had quite a bit of spring to it.
The second handspun yarn is a green blend embelished with tensil strips, fiber wraps and curls. A nice soft blend of wool and Alpaca. I don't think the camera/moniters do it justice, very nice color combos.

Preludes to Handspun Yarn ~ The Raw Fleece

Of course, just because my sister has rare breeds of sheep and grants me access to wonderful fleeces doesn't mean I limit my adventures to the local availability. Here is some raw fleece I bought online and have a few pictures so far of picking thru the raw fleece and washing, it is now hung to dry so later I will have more pics of carding and possibly dyeing then spinning and finally off to sell on Etsy or Ebay. Mind you I am very new at all of this so it may not seem just the way others would do it, I'm still learning....
